We are part of a national organisation, made up of hundreds of local groups around the country. Our own organisation was formed in 1993, as East Devon u3a, to serve the town and surrounding villages.
Our motto is “There are no strangers here; Only friends you haven't met yet”.
Our current membership is over 350 and growing steadily. We operate nearly forty “interest groups” covering a wide range of subjects. Detailed information showing the range of interests can be found elsewhere on this website. They range across educational, creative and leisure activities and any member can start a group on a subject of particular interest to them. Some groups are quite large and meet in venues where an additional rent is paid, although our smaller groups are usually held in members' homes.
Monthly general meetings take place at The Beehive in Honiton, with speakers on a variety of subjects and more information on this can be found on our Events page.
We hope you like what you see here on our website and if you choose to join us you will find a warm welcome!
