This group meets every Friday at 3.30pm to start at 3.45pm at the Honiton Leisure Centre.

Autumn Friendly for Honiton u3a Pickleball Group: On 29th October, Honiton Pickleball group played host to Exeter & Exmouth. Six players from each group enjoyed two hours of ‘friendly ‘ competition. All the players were mixed into doubles & played a series of matches lasting for ten minutes each time. At the end of the session we all agreed it was a ‘challenge’ to play members from other groups so we decided we would have a regular meet up 3 times a year, with each u3a hosting. June Brown, Honiton group organiser said ‘ It’s always great to meet & play members of other u3a groups who enjoy the same game. It keeps you alert, thinking & changing your game all the time ‘
The game is getting really popular with several u3a’s in Devon and these matches help each of the groups to play different people and test their skills in a non-competitive session.
Honiton’s group is up to 23 now & so we have added an extra session on a Sunday morning for current members who would like to play twice a week.

New 'u3a Devon Pickleball Challenge Cup Results
In September, eight intrepid volunteers, represented Honiton u3a in a new outdoor ‘Challenge Cup’ hosted by Exmouth u3a.
Playing a series of ‘round robin’ matches during the day, the group with the most points won. This year, the winners were Exmouth, with Honiton coming 3rd.
The winning team were presented with an engraved silver cup which they keep for 2025 ( & as winners will organise next year’s event. )
